This month I talk with New York playwright James Armstrong and journey back in time with his play Bones of the Sea, an exploration of famed 19th century paleontologist Mary Anning. We discuss the inspirations behind bringing Anning to the stage and the challenges of writing historical fiction without relying on spirited rap numbers and a rotating stage.

The scene featured in this month’s episode features guest artist Katrina Art as Mary Anning and ERP NYC EERS coordinator William Gwyn as Henry.
